Camilla Hole at Nasjonal Jazzcene

  • Nasjonal jazzscene 35 Karl Johans gate Oslo, Oslo, 0162 Norway (map)

Composer Camilla Hole has written a work that contemplates a lifelong fascination with the sight of the massive concrete block - everything you don't see behind the big grey, slightly frightening facade. Stories about the past and future. What are the destinies stirring behind all those windows that could hold an entire Norwegian village? The music is inspired by everything from literature's drabantby stories by, among others, Anne-Cath. Vestly and Zeshan Shakar, to the film's utopian/dystopian science fiction. "Streets in the sky - who are you up there?" is a work that reflects overwhelming emotions and imagination, and invites the listener to wonder together with the composer and look up at massive concrete blocks with a new look or the same look one sends up to the starry sky.
