1816 is back with a new album at Kirkelig Kulturverksted!
The band 1816 takes its name from the "year without summer" - and explores the contrasts between darkness and light, vulnerability and hope. The music moves elegantly between chamber music, jazz and alternative pop, with naked lyrics and a strong expression.
The upcoming release follows a debut album that received rave reviews.
Behind 1816 are Wenche Losnegård and Audun Ellingsen - both are experienced musicians and composers with backgrounds in Norwegian jazz, improvisation, film and dance. Together they create a captivating universe of acoustic chamber pop.
With them are the British cellist Gregor Riddell (Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool)
and Erik Nylander (Ola Kvernberg etc.) on drums and percussion.
