Johan Tobias Bergstrøm has established himself as a recording artist, composer, and performing musician on the Norwegian music scene for over a decade. As the guitarist and driving force behind Touché Monet, he has led extensive tours and concert series, performing more than 300 shows. He has released five albums on the renowned label Hot Club Records, along with two solo albums on Losen Records. The seeds for Bergstrøm’s solo work were planted in 2020 during a performance for the Norwegian and Jordanian royal families in Jordan. Immersed in the region’s rich musical landscape—where the sound of the oud filled the air—he felt compelled to explore the meeting point between musical traditions. This moment of inspiration led him to blend his Django Reinhardt‑inspired style with the Arabic melodies he had just encountered. The albums Nova (2024) and Stella (2025) reflect this fusion, drawing further influence from artists’ featured in the mix such as Richard Bona, Bill Connors, Jacob Young, and the Esbjörn Svensson Trio.
