Jo Berger Myhre is a bass player, composer and producer based in Oslo. He recently released the album Penta on the UK label RareNoise Records. This mix gathers some of the music he listened to throughout 2025 while making the record. Some of the references might feel obvious, while others probably not at all.
“I’ve always listened to a very wide array of music, and I grew up playing all kinds of it. During a regular week in my teens, I would spend evenings playing in rock bands, jazz and improv groups, gospel choirs, symphonic and chamber ensembles, with singer-songwriters, and experimenting with electronics and noise. I guess all of these wide-ranging inspirations seep into my own music somehow, and hopefully come together as something new.”
